Real estate activity in the Triangle MLS was mixed for the month of October…

  • Homes sold in October 2011 vs October 2010 = 1,492 vs 1,336 representing an increase of 11.7%
  • At the end of October 2011 the inventory of homes for sale was 15,078 vs 18,966 in October 2010, a decrease of 20.5%
  • Unfortunately the Days on Market until sale saw an increase of 14.2% for the same period with an average of 126 in October 2011 vs 110 in October 2010

The Triangle unemployment rate dropped to 8.3%, below the national average.

  • New Active homes entered the housing market in October
  • Total Active homes were listed during the month (excludes the # of New Active homes as not to be redundant or skew the numbers)
  • Homes Closed during October
  • Homes that went under contract (Pending) during October
  • Average Days on the Market homes were listed before closing
