The process of buying a home can be stressful. A home inspection is supposed to give you peace of mind, but can sometimes have the opposite effect. You will be asked to absorb a lot of information in a short time. Often including:

Don’t let the small stuff stress you out too much. The majority of your home inspection will likely be small imperfections and maintenance recommendations that can be corrected inexpensively. It is absolutely important that you know what you’re getting yourself into before purchasing a home, however keeping things in perspective is certainly important and the little stuff should never be a deal breaker. However you may find a couple of items turn up on your report that do warrant attention:
Items in the realm of these categories do need attention - but again don’t get too stressed! Potentially serious problems like the above items 2 & 3 can often be fixed inexpensively when detected and taken care of early on.
Regardless of what turns up on the report, it’s important to note that most sellers are just as surprised and upset as you are to learn of the items uncovered during an inspection. Also realize however the sellers are not obligated to fix everything (or anything). No home is perfect. Keep things in perspective.
